The
Power of Calcium Salts of Fatty Acids
-
One of nature's richest
energy sources for ruminants.
-
The cattle industry's most
tested and reliable ruminant fat source is the calcium salt of
Fatty Acids.
-
Calcium salts of fatty acids
have superior handling characteristics
FACT: Negative energy
balance occurs when high-producing, early lactation cows cannot
consume enough energy from typical rations to compensate for the
high level of milk being produced.
Meeting early lactation nutritional needs is critical to:
-
Sustaining high milk
production
-
Maintaining body condition
-
Subsequent reproductive
performance
Challenges with
conventional early lactation feeding strategies:
-
Use animal fat or oilseeds
to boost ration energy density. These energy sources are rumen
degradable and high levels can compromise rumen function.
Depressed rumen function results in depressed intake, reduced
nutrient digestibility, and lower milk components.
-
Feed more grain. This
strategy results in feeding too much grain in relation to forage
intake, which predisposes cows to acidosis and laminitis.
SOLUTION: Enertia
Feeding ENERTIA, a rumen inert fat source, in early lactation
rations can effectively and economically boost ration energy
density without the adverse effects associated with conventional
feeding strategies.
Enertia ruminant fat source is a high-energy dairy feed ingredient
marketed by the Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), a
world-leading supplier of ingredients to the feed industry.
Enertia is a source of calcium salts of palm oil fatty acids that
is highly digestible in the small intestine.
Features and Benefits
-
Calcium Salt of Palm Oil
Fatty Acids - Provides a high-energy source which is highly
digestible in the small intestine.
-
Consistent Quality - Because
ADM is directly involved in palm oil processing, procurement of
consistent, high-quality palm oil at competitive pricing is
ensured.
-
Exceptional Energy Density -
The inclusion of ENERTIA in lactation rations provides a high
level of energy. ENERTIA provides 5.07Mcal/kg.
-
Excellent Handling
Properties - ENERTIAs flowable, granular form mixes well with
feed ingredients typically used in dairy rations. Weather
fluctuations (hot and cold temperature extremes) and standard feed
processing procedures do not affect ENERTIA
Feeding Recommendations
Feed at the rate of 113.5 to
454 grams per head per day to supplement the energy needs of
high-producing cows. ENERTIA can also be fed to other
energy-deficient cows.
ENERTIA should be fed
to cows in a diluted form and gradually introduced to cows that
have not previously been fed calcium salts of palm oil fatty
acids.

Enertia is a high energy feed ingredient that can be
included in the ration to meet the supplemental energy needs of high
producing dry or lactating dairy cows. Target feeding rate for
Enertia will range from 3.5g to 454g per cow daily. Enertia should
be fed in a diluted form and introduced gradually to cows that are
not familiar with the odor of calcium salts of palm oil fatty acids.
Product Form/Packaging
Granular form packaged in 25 kg bags or bulk tote sacks. Bulk
density is 31 lb/cu. ft.
Ingredients Calcium Salts of Fatty Acids(Palm Oil), BHT (as
