The manufacturer of ADM Alliance
Nutrition milk replacers has a steady, dependable supply of
major milk ingredient components used in the manufacturing of calf
milk replacers. When ingredient supplies are tight, they have a
constant supply—so quality is never compromised.
All milk proteins used in ADM Alliance Nutrition calf milk
replacers meet edible specifications compared to other milk
replacers that may include distressed, high bacteria feed-grade
milk proteins. The use of high-quality ingredients can raise calf
performance by as much as 0.1 lb average daily gain, which equates
to a 4.2 lb heavier calf at 6 weeks.
Human-grade edible lard is used as the fat source in ADM
Alliance Nutrition milk replacers rather than choice white grease,
which is found in most other calf milk replacers. This produces a
product with no odor and consistent quality.
Dry fats are incorporated into calf milk replacers that are
manufactured at a specialized spray drying facility. The small
fat particle size enables easy digestion by the calf.
NurseTrate calf milk replacer is manufactured at North America’s
state-of-the-art milk replacer facility with patent pending
milk replacer manufacturing process technology.
The entire manufacturing process is quality controlled from
receiving ingredients until the finished milk replacer leaves the
door. This produces consistent quality products.
A laser defraction analyzer is used at the manufacturing facility
to evaluate agglomerate milk replacer particle size. This
ensures producers that the product is properly agglomerated for
improved mixability.
Several mixing evaluations are done on every batch of milk
replacer—wettability (measures how powder drops in water - “sinkability”),
dispersibility (evaluation of how readily product goes into
solution), and sediment test (evaluates sediment on bottom after
minimal stirring).
In-plant quality assurance laboratory conducts NIR and moisture
analysis while product is being manufactured. This ensures calves
receive consistent nutrition with each feeding.
Calf milk research utilizing more than 1,600 calves
annually yields products that generate a greater economic return
to the dairy. Some of the patented technologies include NUTRITEC™
(in PowerMAX™ and NurseTrate Supreme products) and Multiple
Protein Formula technology (in NurseTrate MPF products).
