
European Performance Horses is an elite riding establishment
located in Barboursville, Virginia, which is close to the Blue
Ridge Mountains and about 12 miles from Charlottesville, home to
the University of Virginia.
European
Performance Horses is owned & operated by Sarah & Gerd Reuter and
specializes in breeding, full board, sales, training, clinics and
showing. They also offer foals through Grand Prix horses for sale
in all disciplines. They often host students from overseas as well
as from all over the United States.
Gerd and Sarah live and work on the
premises with full-time staff and working students. Their
beautiful facility is set on 25 acres of rolling hills and
includes international sized indoor and outdoor arenas,
state-of-the art training and breeding barns and large, luxurious
stalls. The five in-house stallions, Romantic Star, Welt Hit Star,
Super Star, Libero Star and Waliano are available for stud to
mares all around the world.

Gerd began his competitive career in 1973, at age 17, in the
German Young Rider’s Championship. He is a United States Dressage
Federation Silver and Gold Medalist who holds the German Gold
Riding Certificate and actively competes in Dressage through Grand
Prix level, the highest level of competition.

Sarah is a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist who was awarded the
American Warmblood Society 2004 Breeder of the Year and AWS 2003
Virginia Director of the Year. She competes in Dressage through
Intermediaire level.
Romantic
Star is a 1995 17hh dark brown Elite License Class 1 Hanoverian
stallion born in Germany. He is also approved by the COV Main Stud
book 1, has Premium status with the ISR with 228 points and was
named Stallion of the Year in the American Warmblood Society in
2001. He received 10 for his character; 9s for temperament and
willingness; and 8s for constitution, walk, canter, and
rideability at his 100 day testing. He comes from a long line of
champions and has had successful siring careers in both Germany
and the U.S. He won the Get of Sire Class in Lexington in 2004.

Welt Hit Star is a 1996, 16.1hh brown Oldenburg License Class 1
Stallion. He was Reserve Champion at the 100 day testing at
Prussendorf in 1999. He won the Dressage phase with 137.8 points
and won the ISR inspection with 229 points with Premium status. He
placed 8th in the 2005 USEF Leading Hunter Breeding Sires. Welt
Hit Star was the highest indexed stallion at the AWS 2005 Progeny
Study of ‘Approved for Breeding’ Stallions with an average score
of 80.21%.
Super
Star was imported from Kazakhstan where he was known as Sandgar.
He is a 1993 Akhal-Teke class I Stallion approved by the Russian
Studbook, ISR and American Warmblood Society. He is a 15’2hh bay
stallion with 4 white socks and a blaze. He is a wonderful
Dressage and Hunter type with superb conformation and an excellent
work ethic and temperament. Super Star is a very sturdy and
natural athlete. He shows all the speed, endurance, beauty and
power for which the Akhal Teke are well known. He also displays
the Akhal Teke characteristics of great intelligence,
trainability, kindness and stamina. Super Star is currently
showing Prix St. Georges level.
Libero
Star is a 15.3hh 1997 ELITE American Warmblood Society stallion
registered with the GOV Main Studbook and is an ISR Oldenburg NA
Premium stallion with 226 points in the American Warmblood
Society. Libero Star went to his first horse show in May of 2004
at Williamsburg VA and placed first and second and was the Grand
Champion stallion of all the Baltic Regions. Lobero Star won the
Gold Medal at his inspection in October, 2005. He also won the AWS
2005 USA Year End Inspection and was awarded Reserve Champion
Mature Stallion.
Waliano
is a 16.1hh 1992 chestnut stallion. He is approved by the
Pferdezucht-Verband, Oldenburg Verband, Oldenburg Registry North
America, Westfalischen und Rheinischen, International Sport Horse
Registry and is an Approved Elite Supreme stallion in the AWS.
Waliano received a 2nd and Silver in the Mature Stallions Category
for the 2004 AWS Inspection Stallion of the Year with a score of
80.650. He won the riding horse classes in Novice and Elementary
Dressage and is the winner in Dressage competitions in classes A
through M in Germany.
