-
Always observe your pet’s eating
habits. Changes in eating habits may indicate that they are not
feeling well.
-
Ensure clean, fresh water is
available at all times.
-
Feeding recommendations are intended
only as guidelines.
-
Provide the amount of feed needed to
maintain normal body weight and body condition.
-
Do not overfeed or allow your pet to
become overweight or obese. You should be able to easily feel
the ribs, but not see them in most short-haired pet breeds. Use
similar criteria for long-haired pets.
-
Most dogs are binge eaters and need
to be meal-fed in limited quantities to maintain normal body
weight. Most dogs will overeat if allowed unlimited access to
food.
-
Do not allow large breed puppies to
become overweight as this increases the likelihood of adult
skeletal problems.
-
Cats are meal-eaters and should have
access to food several times daily. Limit amounts at each
feeding as needed to maintain normal body weight.
-
Changes in your pet’s feeding habits
should be made gradually. When changing over to Proud Paws Pet
Food, first substitute small amounts in place of your pet’s
current food. Then over the next week to 10 days, increase the
amount of Proud Paws, while decreasing amounts of your pet’s
other food, until you pet has 100% Proud Paws Pet Food.
