CTC Program for Cattle:

Increased rate of weight gain and
feed efficiency and reduce liver abscesses

Feed daily at sub-therapeutic level (70 mg/head/day) mixed in
ration

Cattle must be over 400 lb

CONTROL of bacterial pneumonia
associated with shipping fever complex

Feed daily (via mixed ration or top-dress) at 350 mg/hd/day

Typically fed for 7-14 days during times of stress

Starting Program Example:
1. Feed CTC at 10 mg/lb of body wt/d
rate for 5 consecutive days, take one day off, and then feed 10
mg/lb body wt/d for another 5 consecutive days (pulse medicating)
• Calves may be processed,
vaccinated, and mass treated (if preferred) as normal
• Start CTC program once calves have
started eating (3-5 days on feed)
2. Repeat for additional 5 days or
11-day program explained above between 18-28 days on feed.
• Use with extremely high-risk cattle
or native ranch calves
Do not feed CTC at
the 10 mg/lb body wt/day rate for more than five consecutive days,
as this may kill off beneficial bacteria in the gut.
